Lady Luck is a 791 room hotel and casino, currently closed for renovations. Unfortunately, said renovations were supposed to be completed long ago (the casino closed in 2006, related timeshares are still active), with no obvious progress having been made on the project yet. Fans of the property have been encouraged by the development of the nearby Mob Museum by the city of Las Vegas, bringing renewed hope that Lady Luck will one day reopen. The property opened in 1964 as Honest John’s casino, renamed Lady Luck in 1983. Employee chatter from nearby properties indicates that the Lady Luck towers are not only connected via the obvious skywalk, but also by an underground tunnel.

I recently visited Vegas for a conference (March 29-31, 2004)and was put up in the Lady Luck Casino Hotel. First of all the air ventilation system in there is really bad. It was so smoky. If you have allergies that act up around smoke I would NOT stay here. Because there were no more non smoking rooms available I was given an upgrade to a smoking junior suite. The junior suite was not all that. The couch had rips, tears, stains all over it. I did not sit down on it at all. The room smelled faintly of smoke, but since it was a smoking room it's to be expected. The carpet was gross too. It had stains all over it and it had that thick gross sort of feel. I kept my socks on the entire time. The view wasn't bad. It looked over to the Freemont Experience. The bathroom wasn't too bad I guess. There had been some repair work done to the tub, but it still looked stained. I had read about the Lady Luck online and one of the website said it provided a hair dryer. I assure you it did not. If you wanted an ironing board and iron you needed to call downstairs to get one. The bathrooms did have two sinks which was nice, but still in need of work. I was there with fellow conference goers and they all remarked the same thing in their rooms as well.
