Restaurant Ratings & Reviews Village Seafood Buffet (The Rio)

Food was good. Lobsters were very small and most cut in half. Crab and shrimp was very good. Desserts were fantabulous! Little pricey but overall good experience.

Go a little after they open to avoid lines. Long lines. But don't go towards the end or you'll be in line for a while. As far as selection, pretty good, usually snow crabs and mini lobsters. Fried clams, oysters, shrimp cocktail, stone crab, and other starch dishes as well as sushi. Do the damage on the seafood. Don't waste time on anything else.

My friends say this place is delicious, but personally I hate seafood. So I'm just going to say their review. It's a great place, delicious expect for the price. That took my appetite away.

Some friends insisted we try this place on one of our many trips to Vegas......The WORST EVER!!!!! Cheap and disgusting food and atmosphere!!! The casino buffet in my hometown is better than this place!!!!!

Two words. Rip off!!! Unless you absolutely must have seafood don't bother. The featured lobster is chopped up into pieces a little bigger than the jumbo shrimp that share the same pan. The quality is just fine for the other items. The service was outstanding and you're right next to the show in the sky but it's just not worth $20 more than other buffets. I've had better buffets in Kansas City casinos.

The food isn't necessarily bad but nothing special. The crab legs are a bit tasteless and taste as if they have been sitting in water. The "lobster" pieces are dried out. You can easily find bettter food at better prices---even at the Rio at their other buffet.

If there are bad reviews here it has to be from competing restaurants. This is the best buffet around. We stayed at the Luxor a few years ago and they recommended it to us. The line can be long and yes, it does cost more than other buffets. It is sooo worth it! Everything is fresh and tastes great. I am from Utah and crave the crab legs from here all the time. When we talk about coming to Vegas, this buffet is what we are most excited about. We have never had a bad experience. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Someone mentioned that the dessert bar wasn't anything to look at. Honestly, it doesn't look like much but the desserts that they do have is so tasty.

The biggest drawback is the price. It's close to double the world buffet's price, but if you are a seafood lover, it's worth it to check out! The various fillets are a tad dry but flavorful. the crablegs and shellfish are the star of the show. great variety, and decent non-seafood choices, although it would be a hard sell to somebody who doesn't enjoy the ocean considering the world buffet is in the same building at half the price. Maybe it was just the night i was here, but i also noticed no catfish! That would have been cool, but not a big deal. The other reviewers are blind, the hushpuppies are easy to find and delicious!

For my money, the Village Seafood buffet is an every trip stop in Vegas. While the quality of the seafood is good not excellent, the selection is just terrific. Every type of seafood is represented and is plentiful. In the past 10 trips, during 8 of them I experienced excellent service form the wait staff. They are almost always prompt and very friendly.

Excellent choice locals picked it over bellagio

Perfect for seafood lovers. Went to the buffet with a large group. The line was kind of long, but it was worth the wait. Feasted mainly on the split lobster tails and crab. There were also enough non-seafood dishes to satisfy the non-fish eater in our group.

A little pricey for a buffet but you get what you pay for

If you love lobster, crab and shrimp, you will like the Village Seafood Buffet. If you like other seafood, such as salmon and tuna, you will be disappointed. Not cheap, so go with an empty stomach.

Good food, excellent service. Good selection of fish. Some veggies, salads okay. Couldn't find the hushpuppies. Sugar free desserts were excellent. Long line unless you are Platinum or Diamond card carrier. Line was wrapped around and half through the casino at 7:00 on Friday night What does that tell you?

Food was fresh. Great selection. Every kind of fish imaginable. Had never heard of some of the selections. Coulldn't find any cole slaw or hushpuppies, but otherwise very good. Desserts were not plentiful but good. Had great service, but we have a diamond card and get catered to. Will probably go here again sometime but not everytime we go to Vegas. But like all buffets you get better selection than at a Seafood Restaurant and if you don't like what you get, go get something else.

whoever wrote a negative review about this buffet must be from a competing hotel with a seafod buffet. This buffet is excellent. I am from Texas and enjoy Gulf seafood that is done by many different types of restaurants. This buffet is worth the wait and the money.

If you like overcooked rubbery seafood this is the place for you.

A must for seafood lovers! Come early and come hungry. We arrived at 5:30 and there was virtually no line. The variety of seafood and styles of preparation are outstanding. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared well. The calamari and scallops were wonderful. The desserts tend to "look" better than they taste, but the dessert bar is not the main attraction here. We found a high-protein seafood meal was just the ticket to rejuvenate you for a evening of fun. The Masquerade Court (just outside the seafood buffet) has a lively, fun atmosphere and great party energy, so we stayed all night after our meal. Would recommend the Rio and the seafood buffet to anyone.

Good experience eating here, more than I can say for many buffets! Grea variety of seafod with varied preparations. The Mongolian Grill portion was fantastic!

This is by far the best buffet I have ever been to (including the Carnival World). There is such a huge variety of seafood, from lobster and shrimp to snapper and tuna. And it's done in various different ways (Asian, Mexican, Italian, American, etc.)I didn't even get through the whole buffet before I got full and couldn't eat anymore! The food is all prepared very well and is very tasty. There is a fantastic dessert bar with different cakes, pies and pastries. Also, the servers are very efficient and friendly. From now on, this will be on my "must do" list whenever I go to Vegas.
